Each panel, frame, and unit in the Draco Grills Teak series is unique since it is entirely crafted of reclaimed Teak.
This Teak is manufactured using the finest quality grade A heartwood plantation teak. It is virtually maintenance free, due to a high content of natural oils and minerals, making it impervious to water, resistance to rot and insect infestation, fungal decay or mildew.
Looked after properly with a little care and attention, your Teak furniture will stay in good condition and give many years of service.
Teak is a natural material and variations in colour, grain or other natural features can occur and is to be expected between timber taken from trees in the same plantation, or taken from different parts of the same tree.
Your newly delivered Teak units may bear signs of surface oil. This is perfectly normal and any residue will evaporate within 7-10 days as your furniture adapts to its new environment.
It is important to realise that over time, all timber components used in your Teak units will gradually age to an even silver-grey patina that is inherent to Teak.
The British climate is changeable, so all our timber is properly kiln dried and stabilised before machining and assembly to prevent warping or shrinking. However, checks or cracks will infrequently change, especially on the end grain. These cracks (opening and shutting of the grain) are sometimes caused by extreme fluctuations in air humidity and temperatures, particularly during the summer. This is completely natural and should not impair the strength or durability of the units.
We recommend that all moving components and fittings be checked on a regular basis, lubricated and tightened as needed before use. Please keep in mind that brass-ware might tarnish if left out in the open.
