What is a Grillstream Hybrid?

Introducing Grillstream's Hybrid System
The patented Grillstream technology is the main distinctive feature of these barbecues. This double grill system results in a more intense flavour because there is less fat and no flare-ups. It also means that there is hardly any fat left in the BBQ that needs cleaning; all you need to do is brush the grills and empty the fat cup. The double grills stop the fat from dripping down onto the burner and causing flare-ups.
The innovative hybrid cooking system from Grillstream combines the flavour of charcoal with the convenience of gas. No messy lighter fluid is required; just use the gas burners to ignite the charcoal.
One of the benefits of Grillstream's Hybrid system is its excellent way of lighting the charcoal built into the barbecue. Lighter fluid or paraffin cubes are not required as they can tinge the flavour of any food cooked over the coals. Light the gas burners and wait for 15 minutes, turn the gas off for 15 minutes, and this will give the charcoal a white glow and it will be ready to cook on.
A key strength of Grillstream's Hybrid barbecues is their flexibility because they allow you to use all gas and charcoal or any combination of the two.
By filling the two outer trays with charcoal and leaving the rest of the barbecue unit, you can try indirect cooking (this will be great if you are roasting a large piece of meat). To easily top up the charcoal, leave the outer grills off.
If you want to sear steaks, you could add charcoal to one tray and keep the rest of the barbecue at a controlled temperature on the gas.
Grillstream's unique technology allows fat and grease to escape into a removable cup, leading to healthier and delicious food and less flare-ups.
Cleaning a barbecue can be difficult and time-consuming but with a Grillstream Hybrid, it is very easy. Their trays are designed to hold the briquette ash together - long after they are cool enough to be removed and for the ash to be tipped away before you use them again. The ash remains in the barbecue after cooking and no solid fats and meat juices that can make cleaning a charcoal barbecue difficult will be there.
When build-up has started to appear after extensive use, take out both sets of grills and the Hybrid trays, clean with warm soapy water, and leave them to dry. Unload the fat channel and wipe it clean to clear away any food residue and debris to prevent any blockages. Remember to remove the drip tray and clean with warm, soapy water as well.
Then, clean the fat cup thoroughly. Place it back on the barbecue before you use it again.
It is also important to clean the outside of the barbecue clean. All stainless steel areas needed to be cleaned with an appropriate cleaner and non-abrasive cloth. Use warm, soapy water to clean painted areas and glass viewing panels with a soft cloth to prevent scratches.
What Charcoal Do You Need?
It is important that you use the correct charcoal for a Grillstream Hybrid. Good-quality briquettes give a long, even burn that will not surge on the heat very quickly. We do not recommend lumpwood as it forms a very extreme heat for a short period of time, and you would need to pay very close attention to it.
